Released in 2016 as part of the Anejados series, the Hermosos #4 Añejados is said to be aged for 5 to 8 years by Habanos S.A. (Cuba’s sole manufacturer). They come in colorful cedar boxes of 25 that feature different versions of Hoyo’s logo with green, gold, red and white covering it all. The flavor profile of these aged cigars features strong spicy cedar and leather as the dominant flavors that come from the years of aging, with an additional cinnamon, earthiness, and sweetness that round it out.
These cigars are on the milder side, as many cigars are under the Hoyo de Monterrey name, despite their extra age. Measuring 5 inches by a 48 ring gauge, they are considered corona extras. They’ll last you up to an hour as an easy smoke to consume at any point in the day, whether it’s a post-lunch relaxant or a leisurely walk around town. Pair these with something smooth. We like an aged rum or smoky Scotch.
