Every aficionado is familiar with the Montecristo No. 2, but perhaps not the H. Upmann version with the same name. In fact, it’s almost an identical cigar in appearance, with a prominent pointed head at the tip of this torpedo. It’s also on the thicker side, which makes it stand out so much as a torpedo, with a solid 52 ring gauge. The Montes may be common in stores and amongst friends, but the H. Upmann 2s are a rare breed as Habanos makes much less for circulation.
Although it’s a medium-bodied smoke, the 2s are packed with an abundance of rich flavors like oakwood, coffee beans, and nuts. Its formidable flavor doesn’t shy from its roots as a major part of a brand dating back to 1844. This particular vitola may just become your favorite as its rarity is part of its allure and it’s as tasty as they come. These smokes come in an egg white box of 25 cigars with cream-colored borders and the H. Upmann insignia.
