The Esplendidos is the longest and longest-standing cigar in the Línea Clásica series, along with a thick Robusto and smaller Exquisito. It’s considered a Churchill vitola, named after the former leader of Great Britain who certainly enjoyed his big smokes as well as his Scotch (often early in the day). For that reason, this cigar does pack a punch worthy of the prime minister, and delivers just as much flavor as did he. It’s full-bodied and full of caramel and cherry notes, with a mellow spice that brings it full circle.
There’s a reason that this 7-inch by 47 ring gauge smoke has become one of Cohiba’s most notable cigars. If you love Cohibas, why not just have more of them wrapped in one single cigar. Once made at El Laguito, these cigars are now rolled across the country at many factories in order to meet demand. If you can handle a lot of smoke in one sitting, you’ve met your match with the Esplendidos. The cigar is certainly a gorgeous one, as its name so suggests.
