First announced at the annual Habanos Festival in February 2018, the Soberanos line is part of Cuba’s famous Edición Limitada series from Habanos S.A. (hence the “EL” in the title). This limited edition line is actually the longest-running from any cigar company.
The Soberanos is a double robusto, a vitola commonly known as the Duke since 2009 when Romeo y Julieta debuted the size. It measures a modest 5 1/2 inches long by a hefty 54 ring gauge, so it does last quite some time, even for the aficionado. With its Bolivar and accompanying Edicion Limitada bands, Soberanos is a dark cigar due to its Maduro wrapper– one that you can count on for a full-bodied smoke that has bountiful flavor of espresso beans, strong Cuban coffee and earthy wood.
Like most true Cubans, this limited edition is 100% Cuban tobacco that hails from the mecca of cigars. If you have the ability to find one of these rarer cigars, buy it and smoke it.
